I am going to be doing a lot of this in my own dining room.  I love bringing the garden indoors.

Roses Have so Many Names

One of my favorite flowers are roses.  I am amazed at the variety of roses that exists and all the different names given to them.  This is just a very small sampling.

Looking for Signs of Spring

It has been so cold here in the northeast of America.  The month of January has been stinging cold.  I am sort of thankful that I was laid off at the end of December because I don't have to get up early to go out to work in the frigid cold.  Except for job interviews and going to buy groceries, I pretty much have not been going outdoors.  I am catching up on a tremendous amount of reading and enjoying watching old movies.

I have had enough of the cold and I am looking for any signs of spring.  The only signs so far is that the days are getting longer.  Since the winter solstice we have gained 35 minutes of daylight.

For any other signs of spring I will have to settle for pictures for now.

Un Jour de Fleurs

When I enter a floral shop this is the kind of beauty that I love to see.  This is one of the floral shops of Eric Chauvin in Paris, France.

It would be so lovely to have a floral shop like this in my neighborhood.

Mums the Word

I am a lover of all four seasons.  I prefer to live in the northeast because we do experience winter, spring, summer and fall.  I do wish that winter was a little shorter, but overall I really do not mind it.  It is nice to have snow during the Christmas season although it no longer looks beautiful after it has fallen and starts to get dirty.

September 22nd officially kicks off Autumn.  I always associate mums with Autumn.  Mums come in such beautiful colors that match the leaves that fall on the ground.  In some areas the leaves have already started turning colors.  In about another month it will be pumpkin picking time.  Apple picking I think already started or is about to begin.

This post is dedicated to my favorite autumn flowers which are mums.

Flower Headpiece for Weddings

If you are not the type of woman who sees herself wearing a wedding veil another wonderful option is wearing a profusion of flowers on your head.  I think it is a fabulous option, especially if you prefer to wear a simple wedding dress.  I would definitely consider it.
You can even save money by making a flowery headpiece yourself.  It can be a fun DIY project.  Flowered headpieces can also be worn in different colors besides white.  Bright or pale pinks, yellows or blues look lovely.

Here are some beautiful and creative options.

The above and below photos have veils attached to the flowered headpiece but they can be easily worn without it.
