Feast of Saint Patrick

Happy Saint Patrick's Day to all of you!

May you always have work for your hands to do.
May your pockets hold always a coin or two.
May the sun shine bright on your windowpane.
May the rainbow be certain to follow each rain.
May the hand of a friend always be near you.
And may God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you

Lucky stars above you,
   Sunshine on your way,
   Many friends to love you,
   Joy in work and play-
   Laughter to outweigh each care,
   In your heart a song-
   And gladness waiting everywhere
   All your whole life long!

It Is Almost Christmas

Eight more days until Christmas.  December 25th is known throughout the world as the day that Jesus the Christ was born.  Emanuel Jesus the Christ has always been a very important person in my life.  Jesus has influenced me on just about every level and continues to do so.   Over the years as I awakened spiritually, December 25th has taken on even more profound meaning to me.  It is not only about the birth of Jesus, but also the birth or acknowledgement of the Christ that resides within and directly above all people.  It is about remembering to turn within towards that Magic Presence that goes before me and stands behind me every time I go out into the world.

Exchanging gifts during the Christmas season is a fun thing to do, but it has gotten way out of hand over the past several years, so me and my family do not focus much on that anymore.  I do put a lot of energy into Christmas decorating.  I love real Christmas trees and seeing so many festive lights all over the place.  There is nothing quite like an old fashioned Christmas.

Saint Nicholas - Santa Claus - Father Christmas

Saint Nicholas is the inspiration for Santa Claus.  Nicholas was a 4th Century Greek Christian Bishop who became well known and loved because of his years of generous giving to the poor and love for children.  Nicholas was the only child of wealthy Greek parents.  His parents perished during an epidemic while Nicholas was still very young.  Nicholas became a very devout Christian at a very early age and remained so throughout his life.  After Nicholas's passing he became known as the Patron Saint of Children and sailors.

Many miracles were attributed to Saint Nicholas and he was called Nikolaos the Wonderworker.

In the year 325 Bishop Nicholas attended the Council of Nicea where it was decided what books would make up the Bible.  Nicholas was the only Bishop at the Council of Nicea who was not in agreement with the way it was decided that the Bible would be presented.  There were many writings that were left out that Nicholas knew was crucial to the messages that Jesus brought to humanity.  Nicholas was faithful to the True and Authentic teachings of Jesus the Christ.

Early images of Santa Claus depict him as Saint Nicholas dressed up in his robes.

As time passed the image of Santa Claus evolved into a jolly older and fat man who came down chimneys on Christmas eve to deliver toys to children who were good all year long.

Saint Nicholas, I love you and I bless you.  I thank you for your service to life.

Christmas Trees Outdoors

Hi,

I love seeing trees decorated and lit up outside during the Christmas season.  I live in an urban area and I don't have a front lawn so I won't be decorating any trees outdoors myself.

These photos make wonderful laptop screen backgrounds so help yourself.  It is not as if I took the photos myself anyway.
