Richard Armitage as Guy of Gisborne

I don't have anything better to do at the moment so I figured I would post some photos of Richard Armitage as Guy of Gisborne from the BBC TV show Robin Hood.  

I did not like this show at all.  The only reason I watched it is because Richard Armitage is in it.  It has way too much violence in it.  If you are into these types of TV shows you can stream this on Netflix.  

Lucy Griffith plays Marian and she does a great job in the role.  Lucy Griffith is also very pretty.  Guy of Gisborne is in love with Marian, but his love is unrequited.  Marian loves Robin Hood but pretends to care for Guy in order to use him and help Robin Hood.  

Guy of Gisborne has a mostly dark side though.  For the first two seasons of the show Guy is working for the sheriff of Nottingham who is evil.  The only person that was ever able to reach Guy's kinder and loving side is Marian.  

It is kind of an odd thing to watch because Robin Hood who is supposed to love Marian and be the love of her life does not show the depth of love and interest in Marian that Guy of Gisborne does.  Guy of Gisborne really wants Marion and wants her to love him but Robin Hood acts as if he could take her or leave her.  Guy displays a lot of passion for Marion.  Robin Hood's passion for Marion does not come nearly as close.  In the very beginning of the show as Robin Hood is returning to his village he even stops to have a romp with some other woman.  Guy of Gisborne never wants any other woman except Marion.  It just does not make any sense.

The day that Guy of Gisborne has been dreaming about for so long finally arrives.  It is Guy's wedding day.  Marian finally agrees to marry him and it is a day that Guy is emotional about.  Marian is the love of his life and Guy also believes that if he marries Marian it will cleanse him of his past bad deeds.

Unfortunately for Guy, Marion cannot go through with the wedding.  It is Robin Hood that she loves, so before Marian and Guy are officially married Marion has a change of heart.  

Guy warns Marian that she had better finish the wedding ceremony or else all heck will break loose.

Marian punches out Guy of Gisborne right there at the altar in front of everyone.  It is pretty darned funny and I howled with laughter.  Guy lands on the floor and is humiliated in front of his peers.

In season one Richard's hair is shorter.  By season three Richard has shoulder length hair.

      

All in all I really did not like this TV series and will not be watching any of it again, not even to see Richard Armitage in it.  As I already wrote, I do not like to spend my time watching stories containing such violence.  I have to draw the line somewhere.  I still have not seen Richard in Strike Back because I know it is a violent film.  I really would like to see Richard get away from these types of movies.  I hope that he does not end up type casting himself.  Richard just completed filming Black Sky in Detriot which is a welcomed change, even if it is about a Tornado.  At least it does not entail him killing people.  I would love to see Richard in a romantic comedy or another love story drama like BBC North and South.
