After Shanna I read every book by Kathleen Woodiwiss for several years afterwards (among other authors) and then I stopped reading romance altogether. I was getting just a bit tired of the long drawn out stories even though they were so good.

When I started seeing African American romances being written I was thrilled and had to check them out. Indigo by Beverly Jenkins was the first one I read. I started reading African American romance novels for a while and eventually winded down on that too. I hardly ever read any type of book at all for quite some time. I LOVE to read though and decided this year that I would get back to reading books and since romance was always one of my favorite genres I started reading them again. I like the novellas the best though. They are long enough to tell a good story but ends before you get tired of the hero and heroine misunderstanding each other.

Reading about romance is just as thrilling now as it was when I was 19 years old. I am glad that I decided to start reading them again.Collar City Brownstonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15263975908686070121noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7911756924575680642.post-62178765730872788262012-05-16T22:55:53.013-04:002012-05-16T22:55:53.013-04:00Xenia, my very favorite, and one of the first roma...Xenia, my very favorite, and one of the first romance novels I read was "Shanna"! The first one I read was Woodiwiss's "The Flame and the Flower". I gave up romance novels many years ago, but remember how thrilling they were when I was young.Down Raspberry Lanehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14307699809498234482noreply@blogger.com
