Couples

Those who know me know that I am a true love and romance Jane Austen style addict.  Some people may think I am a dreamer, but Love Jane Austen style does exist and that is the only kind of love that I want for myself with a man.  Anything less is accepting less than what is meant for you in the grand scheme of things.

There are couples who are wonderful examples of what deep love and respect look like.  Some examples are Paul Newman & Joanne Woodward, Angela Bassett & Courtney Vance, Barack & Michelle Obama, Maxwell Caulfield & Juliet Mills, William Windsor & Kate Middleton, Geoffrey Holder & Carmen DeLavallade.  I am sure there are couples who are not famous at all that have relationships like these couples.

Angela Bassett and Courtney Vance were friends for many years before their relationship blossomed into romance.  The couple made the decision to not be physically intimate until after they were married.  What a novel idea.

Courtney & Angela were married on October 12, 1997

Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward were married for 50 years and lived in the same 18th century Farmhouse in Connecticut for 48 years. They declined living in Hollywood and Joanne Woodward said that that decision helped to solidify their marriage. She added that they also really just enjoyed one another s' company.

The Newman's lived in the same Connecticut farmhouse throughout their marriage.

Geoffrey Holder & Carmen De Lavallade were married in 1955

One of my absolute favorite couples is Juliet Mills & Maxwell Caulfield.  Juliet was born in 1941 making her 18 years older than Maxwell who was born in 1959.  I am sure that many people thought it would not last.  I am THRILLED that this union is still going strong.  The Caulfield's have been married since 1980.  Maxwell was 23 and Juliet was 39 when they wed.

Maxwell Caulfied was one of the stars of Grease 2 which came out in 1982, two years after he married Juliet Mills.  This is a photo still from Grease 2.

Maxwell Caulfield now.

Mr & Mrs Maxwell Caulfied.  At the time of this blog post Maxwell is 52 and Juliet is 70.

I had no idea Maxwell Caufield was married to someone 18 years old than him. I had a major crush on him as a kid.

Hello Mrs. Limestone,

Yes, Maxwell Caulfied has been happily married since 1980. I actually saw a You Tube video of Maxwell and Juliet being interviewed recently, and you can see the great love they have for one another. I love how Maxwell is so protective of Juliet. He also is proud to be with her despite that she is visibly older than he is. Juliet is a very fortunate woman and I am happy for her.

I can understand your crush on Maxwell back then. He is so handsome and still is.
